Today is another hot one at Buttonwillow but it’s a very fun course to run and its at least a little cooler than last time I was here. My first two heats felt pretty nice and only in the third after lunch did it start getting hard to maintain focus in the heat. Clearly others were having tire greasing trouble and overheating issues so people were headed home early. I’m just waiting in some AC now for my fourth/final heat. I’m doubtful I’ll be able to shave any more time off in this heat but I’ll have fun and work on my lines some more.
My fastest lap time in the second heat of 2:30.7 which is 3 whole seconds faster than my last track day here. I ran 2:34 in the third heat though so...
Talked to quite a few STi owners here. Two of which are Hawkeyes as well. Always nice to see my car out here beating me by a mile lol.
Video to follow when I get home!

Some day I'll get it painted. It's just hard to justify spending the money when I can think of so many other things I'd rather spend $1k+ on. Like better coilovers, more track days, new tires, or many other things.

What all is done to the NB? I have a similarly cosmetically challenged NA I’m planning to get into tracking hopefully before the year is out.

Simple stuff really. Flyin Miata coilovers, flyin Miata front sway bar, 200tw tires, 15 inch wheels, fake bride racing seat, 6 point harness, Boss Frog roll bar, RoadsterSport mid and tail pipes, and then the Mazda speed front bumper and headlights. It’s been a pretty good setup for me. Only thing I’d like to change is to try a more expensive/higher quality set of coilovers.
